About

Sam Radwany

Nice to meet you! I’m Sam Radwany — a journalist and editor based out of Tucson, Arizona, currently working as the Audience Development and Weekend Editor at Haystack News.

I was born and raised a midwesterner in Akron, Ohio, but college brought me to Washington, D.C. at the George Washington University, where I studied Journalism and Mass Communication.

After graduation, I got to work at Sirius XM listening to a ton of music, meeting some amazing people and producing great radio. I even helped launch and produce a new suite of Latin music channels, from mariachi to merengue and beyond. Later, I made the move to Minnesota to work as a freelance radio journalist, eventually earning a full-time gig as a Web Producer at WCCO-TV in Minneapolis.

After moving to Arizona in 2018, I started as the lead digital editor at KGUN 9, an ABC affiliate in Tucson. Later, I took a remote editorial position with Haystack News — a TV news app for cordcutters to find local, national and international news all in one place.

My passion for radio and storytelling first began at an internship with WKSU in Kent, Ohio. While archiving and transcribing historical tapes from the infamous May 5 shooting, I discovered the ghostly recordings of my own grandfather, a professor there at the time.

Ever since then, I’ve been hooked on finding and telling great stories, with high stakes, unexpected twists, fascinating characters and new insights about our own lives. If you share my enthusiasm, let’s get in touch and see what we can create together.
